Helicopter Emergency Medical Service
The ratio of intensive-care patients in Jeju Island is relatively high compared to its residential population of 700,000 and an annual tourism population exceeding 1.5 million. With geographical restrictions and frequently changing weather conditions around Seogwipo and the surrounding islands, it is more difficult to rescue and transfer patients within the golden time.
In December 2022, through a competitive tendering process by the National Medical Center, Gloria Aviation was appointed as the Emergency Medical Helicopter Operator for the Jeju region, opening a new era of aviation medical service along with Cheju Halla Hospital’s Regional Emergency Medical & Injury center, and becoming the 8th registered EMS helicopter in the nation.
The appointed EMS helicopter H155B1(LCH) is a domestic model manufactured by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) with relatively reduced rotor noise compared to foreign models. With more than 20 years of experience, our in-house Operations and Maintenance team provides efficient maintenance and professional operations and management year-round.
